The Myall Coast Rotary Club has donated $1,000 to the ‘Fighting for our Farmers’ drought relief campaign.

Rotary members are out and about across Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest armed with buckets to add more to the coffers from generous locals.

“IGA at Hawks Nest are more than happy to have us here with our buckets,” said Rotary’s Bev Latona.

The Lions Club is doing its bit as well, holding a fundraising dinner in conjunction with the Hawks Nest Golf Club.

The Coast to Country Fundraising Dinner Dance is being held on Saturday 8 September from 7pm.

The popular local band Driftwood are playing and there will be a two course dinner, cost $55 per person.

“$25 of every ticket will be going to the farmers,” Lions President John Hughes said.

“We’ll also be having a silent auction and raffles,” John said.

“The local businesses have been very generous in their support.”

All the money raised will be going to our nearest farmers.
