The team want to build a strong Saturday crew to cater to Medowie residents even more, combined with their current Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm opening hours.

This community based store is so grateful to the people of Medowie for their donations, and shop President Beatrix told News Of The Area, “We are so thankful that the community has embraced the store, and for the support everyone has shown us.”

“We, the volunteers, are committed to changing the image and brand of Vinnies only selling ‘to the poor’, we are selling the best possible quality items in order to continue to raise money to provide the much needed support to those who need a ‘hand up’ in the local community.”

“The more quality donations and volunteers we have, the more money can be raised,” she said.

It is through the contributions of volunteers within communities like Medowie that St Vincent de Paul’s Good Works are possible, so the volunteers are a cherished and valued group.

Vinnies’ stores across Australia have become an iconic part of Australia’s charity retail history, and a much loved addition to towns of all sizes across Australia.

Being a volunteer in a setting like this is almost certainly guaranteed to be an invaluable experience, connecting with the community and playing an integral part in the bigger picture of the work that St Vincent de Paul does across Australia.
