TUESDAY 22nd May: A good turn up of bowlers considering 3 teams of Fours were down the south coast participating in the Womens Bowls NSW Sate Carnival 2018. Format for play was 2 games of 3 bowls Triples 18 ends and a Singles Contest between Dale Winter, Bev Stephens and Sandra Leisemann. Great to see Carolyn Bywater back bowling. A close game all the way between Judi Polak, Dorothy Thompson and Lynne Green v Sheril Johnson, Lily Smith and Jill McBride. Jill’s team winning 15 v 13. Carolyn Bywater, Jean Glover and Wendy Jones were equal with Dianne Kiss, Carol Hayden and Robyn Beaumont on the 7th end, 8 all. Robyn’s team claiming victory by 8 shots 19 v 11. The singles contest was 10 ends, 3 competitors each opponent bowled against each other, the winner determined by points scored. Sandra coming in 3rd with 17 shots, Dale and Bev drawing on 18 shots. A 1 bowl “play off” situation, winner Dale Winter. Lynne Green was the winner of the raffle this week, once again thanks to Myall Bistro and Café for their donation of their raffle prize.

Thursday 24th May: No social bowls played.

Unfortunately none of our teams playing at the NSW State Carnival made it to the Post Sectional Play. Francis Betar, Kerry Faber, Elaine Marsden and Loretta Baker had the best results with 3 wins and a draw from their 6 games bowled. Well done ladies. Next year the Carnival will be in Tuncurry, thankfully a bit closer to home.
