Jacqueline was chosen, to attend the National Australian Blind Bowls Association (ABBA)
Championships in Victoria , hosted by Mooroolbark Bowling Club.

About 100, bowlers, directors and officials, plus 8 guide dogs were in attendance at the event.

Diane Henderson of Fingal Bay Women’s Bowling Club told News Of The Area, “Bowlers competed in Games consisting of, Singles, Mixed Pairs, Open Pairs, in various sight categories recognised by (IBBA).

16 games were played in total, 2 or 3 games each day of 2 hrs duration.

“Players can be guided by a sighted director, but not in Jacky’s case.”

Jacqueline of the Fingal Bay Women’s Bowling Club, was competing at her first National Titles at the event, and was successful in winning a Silver Medal in Ladies Singles, Silver in Mixed Pairs, and also took out a Bronze Medal in the Open Pairs, competing against top players who have represented Australia.

“A wonderful achievement,” she said.

Jacky is now looking forward to competing in next year’s Nationals in Perth.

Bowls is a very inclusive Sport and Jacqueline has expressed how very grateful she is to all the lady bowlers from Fingal Bay for their friendship, support, encouragement and acceptance.
