THIS week’s PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) winners were presented at Thursday night’s ceremony at MarketPlace Raymond Terrace.

Special guests Tracy Iles, Auxiliary Lieutenant and Ron Peterson, Envoy of the Salvation Army presented the awards this week.

Colleen Mulholland-Ruiz from the MarketPlace Raymond Terrace told News Of The Area, “Tracy and Ron have worked in the community for many years adding great value to all they do.”

“The Salvation Army is more than a shop or church, they are our friends and many of us know that during floods, fires or just needing a friend to listen or a helping hand the Salvation Army has been there for our community,” she said.

This week’s winners are: Jessica Cox from Hunter River High School: for helping a young boy who had lost his way to a local shopping centre.

Jessica was very responsible in phoning for help, in order to get the young boy safely to his correct destination.

Rhys Stewart from Irrawang High School: for participating in the World’s Greatest Shave, and raising funds for the Leukaemia foundation to support his friend whose Dad had passed away from Cancer.

Lucy Shearer from Irrawang Public School: for her strong public speaking and leadership skills while representing the school at the Raymond Terrace Anzac Service.

Brodie McDonald from Raymond Terrace Public School: for representing the school in the U10’s Knights Knockout.

Brodie displayed impressive sportsmanship, by encouraging other players, especially beginners who were still learning.

He respected referees’ decisions, and showed respect to be a great sport during all games.

Samuel Griffiths from Grahamstown Public School: for always following the road safety rules when walking to and from school.

Cody Thacker from Medowie Public School: for assisting in STEM activities that were held every day of the school holidays at the Medowie Sports and Business Centre.

He even helped on his birthday.

Asha Collins from Seaham Public School: for helping another student in need during the running of the zone cross country.

Alexander Marshall from Salt Ash Public School: for displaying quality values at zone cross country, and using his initiative to help a student from another school when he was on his own.

Emma Crocker from Karuah Public School: for showing great sportsmanship during zone cross country and competing with a gracious attitude towards other schools.
