Fatal car crash near Grafton

A man has died in a two-vehicle crash near Grafton on the state’s north coast.

Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Glenugie about 2.15pm today (Thursday 28 August 2014), following a crash between a southbound Holden Colorado and northbound Toyota Hilux.

The driver of the Colorado died at the scene.

His female passenger managed to free herself from the vehicle and has been taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital. Her condition isn’t known.

The driver of the Hilux has been airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital. He has serious injuries.

Their ages aren’t known.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
