Anja Hurdman, Shari’s mother told News Of The Area, “Shari’s results at the Little Athletics State Championships were outstanding!” Shari achieved 5 personal bests over the weekend and won 2 Gold medals in the Under 11 Girls 400m and 200m sprints. “She qualified for the 100m final, winning her heat, but tripped at the start of the Final which she couldn’t recover from but she was happy with her personal best in the heat.” In the 200m final Shari slashed more than a second off her previous personal best. “She was considerably nervous before each event but once she started racing instinct kicked in and she was 100% focussed,” she said. Shari’s family, including her brother Kelly were at the championships to cheer her on and her coach Bob was there to guide and prepare her physically and psychologically before each event. Understandably Shari is very proud of her achievements on the track and is looking forward to the next event.
