Their base at Medowie’s Kindlebark Oval has received a much-needed facelift recently, making it one of the best facilities in the local area for Little Athletics Clubs.

The number of children joining the club has increased yet again and the heights that some of our local athletes have been able to reach this season have been very impressive.

On that note, allow us to introduced to you three very talented members of the Medowie Little Athletics Club.

Kendall Boyton, Jack Deguara and Hudson Wells travelled to the Sydney Olympic Park last weekend to compete in the Little Athletics NSW State Track and Field Championships.

Kendall, who is eleven years old and attends Glen William Public School, competed in the technically difficult Javelin event.

Hudson, who is also eleven but attends Medowie Public School, competed in the always treacherous triple jump.

And then there is thirteen-year-old Jack Deguara.

A student at Waratah’s St Phillip’s College, Jack competed in three events at the State Championships.

After all was said and done, Jack achieved personal bests in each of his events consisting of the 400m, 800m and the triple jump.

However, it should be noted that all three boys represented their Club and community in a way that should make their families and the Club very proud of them.

“The State Championships were the culmination of a very successful season for the Medowie Little Athletics Club,” President Jason Wells told News Of The Area.

“We’ve enjoyed a season that included records being broken throughout and we also enjoyed a high attendance at Zone and Regional carnivals.”

The Medowie Little Athletics Club will host their Presentation Evening for the season at their Kindlebark Oval home, on Friday 6 April from 5pm.
