Lyn Blake, Co-ordinator of the U3A art group and has been involved with the U3A for 17 years. ‘’We come here to just to enjoy ourselves, we’re not trying to become fully fledged artists, we just enjoy what we do.” Works ranged from the still life to abstract and landscapes. “We even have one lady who’s a professional, I think she comes because she enjoys the feedback,” Lyn said. From art with a brush, to art created with a camera, and a broad range of photographs, many capturing the beauty of the Myall Coast were also on display. Andrew Sillar, Convenor of the Photography Club told News Of The Area, “We’ve had people come in straight off the beach in their swimmers and towels, we’ve had a great response.” And no show would be complete without awards. The prize-winner for the People’s Choice Award was Gail Noble of Tea Gardens. The People’s Choice winning photo ‘Off to the Silo’ was taken by Neryl Grehan. Join the U3A and you could be a very busy person, as there are activities and workshops every day of the week.
