Vital to their training was crew member Garry Higgs who gave his time and expertise to train the new recruits. “Learning to work as a team is very important”, says Mr Higgs. “I’m happy to have been able to mentor our new members and pass on the skills that I have learned over the last 8 years. They will be a valuable asset for our day crew”. The Brigade now has 30 plus active members and attends three to four call-outs a week ranging from bushfires and structure fires, motor vehicle accidents through to community education and school visits.
