The first issue features stories on the Jacaranda Festival, Raymond Terraces Alesco School, Plan It Youth Mentoring and the arrival of Santa in Raymond Terrace Marketplace as well as other important local news and happenings.

The first issues of News Of The Area were lodged at the stands around Raymond Terrace, Heatherbrae, Tomago, Seham and Hinton area.

The paper was very well received with local Bob Coward saying, “It’s about time that we had more news about Raymond Terrace. We need to be put on the map.”

Donna Sandall said, “It’s a great idea, everyone wants to know what is happening in their local area.”

This local publication will run stories which feature all things Raymond Terrace from Hinton and Heatherbrae to Raymond Terrace and Seaham.

When asked what types of stories the man in the street would like to read, and what is of importance to Raymond Terrace Greg Lane who was busking on William Street, told News Of The Area, “The most important thing for Raymond Terrace would be to see William Street be turned into a mall, it becomes a car park at times, a mall would bring people back into the Raymond Terrace shopping precinct again.”

Greg would also like to see a buskers festival held in Raymond Terrace.

Copies of the Raymond Terrace issue of News Of The Area can also be found at McDonalds at Raymond Terrace and Heatherbrae, along with Woolworths Centres, newsagents and many other locations. A full list can be found on the News Of The Area website or call us to point you to one near you.
