Tuesday 3 October: The format for bowls was two games of Triples and two games of Fours.

An interesting day of bowling, a draw, a win by 7 shots, a win by 19 shots and a win by 30 shots.

On Rink 2 Jeanette Emmett, Jill McBride and Lynne Green 35 v Pauline Perry, Francis Betar and Nola Jackson 5. Rink 3 Dianne Kiss, Bev Rhodes, Kathie Rimmer and Deyonne Page 24 v Jeanette Grosvenor (visitor), Bev Stephens and Sandra Leisemann 5. A draw 20 all on Rink 4 Dawn May, Dale Winter and Elizabeth Kelly against Bev Dunn, Carolyn Bywater and Pat Baker.

Bette Saillard, Christine Fossey, Lynda Richards and Karen Green 20 v Ingrid Luck, Dawn Jones, Pam Gilchrist and Kayelene Pearson 13.

Winners on the day with shots plus ends were Jeanette Emmett, Jill McBride and Lynne Green.

Congratulations to Kayelene Pearson and Robyn Beaumont for being selected to play in the Newcastle District Representative Team competing against the Central Coast District in the annual Rose Bowl Competition.

A great achievement by these ladies.

Good bowling to Wendy Brand and Maynie Roberts who will be representing our Club in the Annis Young Competition from the 9 – 12 October. Also best of luck to our Triples teams that will bowling against Karuah for the Ruth Bowden Trophy on 11 October.

Thursday 5 October: Just a game of Triples and a game of Pairs played. Ingrid Luck, Bette Saillard and Nola Jackson 19 v Francis Betar, Karen Green and Loretta Baker 14. Karen McPhie and Deyonne page 18 v Lynda Richards and Lynne Green 16. Winners with 4 for a win and ends were Ingrid Luck, Bette Saillard and Nola Jackson.

Friday 6 October: Oncology Day. This is an annual event held each year to raise money for the Oncology Ward, Mater Hospital Newcastle.

All present enjoyed playing bowls, format” turn around Triples” and a delicious lunch prepared by our wonderful Social Committee.

Money was raised from lunch, raffles, a Tombola, a Trading Table and an auction.

A big thank you to all our local businesses/community members that donated so generously to this event, your contributions make this day possible.

Also, to all those who helped, too many to individually mention but your hard work is much appreciated.

At the end of the day our Club President Robyn Webster, proudly presented a cheque for $6,500 to Elaine Wellard President of Calvary Mater Auxiliary Newcastle and their treasurer Kay Fordham.
