This year, Lions Clubs around the world will celebrate 100 years of serving communities with local Centenary Celebrations occurring midyear. Some of their many projects include distributing glasses to Third World countries, disaster relief and supporting Breakfast Club programs. “When you see the outcome of what you do, whether it is just by doing work or by donating funds to people in need, you really feel good about it,” Governor Byrnes said. The Leos Club at Bulahdelah Central School was originally established in 2014. Local Lions and Deputy Principal Mrs Deb Gilbert, who are the driving force behind the clubs “reinvigoration,” recently met with Governor Byrnes and Zone Chairperson Inga Kasch to discuss the plans. The first meeting of the Leos Club is expected to be held in the coming weeks.
