Held at the Dungog Showground on Sunday, the rally was for new and returning members and focused on showjumping. While clubs can accept riders up to the age of 24, this year’s group ranges in age from four to 22-years-old. “We’ve actually increased our membership numbers this year,” Secretary Rebecca Egan told News Of The Area. “We’ve got a really good, functioning committee, which allowed us to open up some member spaces and call for expressions of interest.” There will now be 40 riders taking part in the club’s regular rallies and events. Featuring both in-house and guest instructors, these activities not only cover riding styles and techniques but also animal nutrition and other ways the riders can care for their horses. Ahead for the club this year is a one-day event, a Pony Club camp and an official showjumping and dressage competition at the end of March.
