ANY Stableford score with a “4” in front of it deserves a win and so it was for Steve Kriss on Tuesday 31 January in the Gloucester Veteran Golfers’ regular outing at the Gloucester Course. The event, an Individual Stableford, was run in fine and warm conditions with a big holiday field present on a course in good conditions though a tad dry in the absence of any substantial recent rainfall. The winner was Steve Kriss with a score of 41 Stableford points. Ball winners were Peter Sate, Rod Burrows and Max Shepherd three points back on 38; Ken Kelly and Denver Webb 37, were next followed by three players on even par for their respective handicaps – Tony Bradley, Brian McInnes and Will Bosma 36. The Nearest-to-the-Pin at the 4th and 13th holes was won by Nicole Bradley who finished 928 cm from the hole. At the 6th and 14th holes the NTP trophies were won by Sally Higgins, 598 cm, and Arthur Poynting, 423 cm. By Peter WILDBLOOD
