Second and third place winners won’t go home empty-handed either, with additional prizes on offer. Craig Worth, owner of Taste Bakehouse, came up with the idea after being inspired by a YouTube video. “I saw a guy eat one and thought it looked like a fun thing to do,” he said. “Rather than just make one, I thought it would be great to turn it into a competition and get the community involved.” The response from the local community has been “phenomenal”, with participants eager to prove their mettle against the colossal sausage roll, which is equivalent to five standard-sized sausage rolls.
