Gloucester Masters 2024

Block 2 winners and runners up.

ON Saturday 2 November we were greeted with perfect weather for a day of Golf Croquet at our District Masters Games.

Again, thirty players from within our region had registered, comprising entrants from Forster, Taree, Nelson Bay, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, Toronto as well as Gloucester.

Registration took place at 8.00am with play scheduled to start at 8.30.

It was doubles play, played over 3 blocks.

Games were timed, each team having four games.

Players and spectators alike witnessed some excellent croquet over the course of the day.

The handicaps of players had ranged from 0 right through to fourteen.

To conclude what had been a most enjoyable and successful day President Ashleigh Hickman congratulated all participants as well as the organisers.

Everyone had been treated to ‘all day’ tea/coffee with scones and treats as well as a choice of lunch and dessert.

Ashleigh then announced the winners of each block – presenting medals, certificates and prizemoney to the winners with certificates and prizemoney going to the runners-up.

Block A winners: Stephen Dilley Jnr. (Maitland) & Janine Crellin (Taree)

Runners-up: Chris Williamson (Toronto) & Dale Edwards (Maitland)

Block B winners: Robert Batho (Nelson Bay) & Najette Scerri (Maitland)

Runners-up: Jamie McIntyre (Lake Macquarie) & Faby Batho (Nelson Bay)

Block C winners: Chris Sims (Gloucester) & Fay Harle (Forster)

Runners-up: Peter Cousins (Maitland) & Rosemary Taylor (Nelson Bay)

Congratulations to all winners and participants.

From the Gloucester Club special congratulations to Chris Sims who came away with another win for this his consecutive year.
