AFTER teaching health and physical education for more than a decade at Bulahdelah Central School, Ms Kate Hunt has been farewelled after accepting a transfer to Figtree High School.

Ms Hunt said it’s the students that she will miss the most.

“We’ve got some awesome kids and I’m going to miss teaching them and playing a role in their lives,” she said.

“I’ve enjoyed supporting the students through their HSC so they can get the best result that they can achieve.”

Ms Hunt said one of the many highlights of her time at the school was working closely with the students in her role of Year Advisor.

“I particularly enjoyed being a mentor and helping the children go through the trivialities and trials of adolescence,” she said.

“It’s very rewarding playing a role in preparing these students for the wider world.”

Ms Hunt made the decision to accept the transfer to be closer to her family in Wollongong.

With preparations well underway for the move south, Miss Hunt said she is sad to be leaving the area.

“I’m going to miss the rural setting and the natural environment as I’ll be moving to a city,” she told News Of The Area.

“Instead of a pleasant drive to work, I’ll now be driving through 50 sets of traffic lights,” she said.
