The number of people living with dementia is set to double in the next 25 years. Dementia becomes more common as people age and is much more common after the age of 65. In the Bellingen Shire 27 percent of the population were aged over 65 years or older in 2021 compared to 22 percent in regional NSW, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The event at the Urunga Neighbourhood Centre will take place on Thursday 19 September at 1:30pm. Light refreshments and afternoon tea will be provided. Bookings are essential.
