1. The very last thing our city needs is to go back to a council dominated by local businesspeople through the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce, a business lobby group has enough power to skew things business’s way in our community regardless of benefit to the community. We have seen our city needs a council that has the welfare of its people to the fore in its decision making not the profits of the few in the business community. Business serves the community not the other way round as many in the business community would like to have it. Let’s ensure we elect those who have been seen to have the welfare of the people and our lifestyles to the forefront of their thinking, business can look after itself.
