Another local business that has bubbled to the top as a finalist in the 2024 North Coast Tourism Awards is Nambucca Valley Train Carriages at Wirrimbi, operated by Diane and Dave Banks. This facility offers two replica train carriages modelled off a tram car built in England in 1884, fitted out as very comfortable accommodation units complete with a queen bed, ensuite, wifi and kitchen and air-conditioning. To add to the novel appeal of this accommodation, the replica carriages overlook the North Coast Railway line, adding to the unique feel of the facility. “We are chuffed to have been selected as finalists in these awards and we put that down to the reviews we get from our guests, many of them repeat visitors, who just love the unique nature of this place and the standard of the accommodation,” Mr Banks told News Of The Area. “Being only five minutes off the highway also makes us so accessible to travellers and everyone that comes here seems to get a kick out of our laundry facility set up in a replica 1954 NSW red phone box.” By Mick BIRTLES Nambucca Valley Train Carriages at Wirrimbi, operated by Diane and Dave Banks, are finalists in the 2024 North Coast Tourism Awards.
