Teeghan Noonan has now completed her commercial cookery qualification with flying colours, enabling her to finish her apprenticeship ahead of schedule.

Beginning her career with the Macksville Ex-Services Club as a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations trainee, Teeghan was able to continue into a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery apprenticeship.

Although Teeghan has encountered challenges along the way, she has impressed with her determination, work ethic, and positive attitude.

She continues to learn by pursuing another vocational educational and training pathway in Patisserie.

Lee-Ann Funnell was nominated for the award by her training provider ETC due to her unwavering commitment and resilience.

She has completed her Certificate III in Hospitality with Macksville Ex-Services Club and has a background in supported disability employment.

ETC believes this experience equipped her with empathy and compassion, which she channeled into all aspects of her traineeship.

Once nominated, both young ladies were shortlisted for a face-to-face interview with judges and are now in the final three in their respective categories; Lee in the Trainee of the Year category and Teeghan in the Apprentice of the Year category.

“We are thrilled that these ladies have been selected as finalists, they are both so deserving of recognition and have done us proud,” Chief Executive Officer of the Macksville Ex-Services Club, Judy Ward, told News Of The Area.
