WHILE our greenkeepers are doing it hard in the dry it is nothing compared to the stress our local farmers must be experiencing.

It must be tough.

Saturday’s stableford event sponsored by Alliance Pest Control was won by Phil Bambury with Jim Wilkes runner up.

Phil’s lucky run continues as his handicap is unaffected with modified competitions until upgrades are finalised.

Nearest the pins went to Max Graham (A) Jim Wilkes (B) and Graham Everett in C grade.

The ladies stableford on Tuesday was won by Desma Hughes with Lorraine King runner up.

On the weekend Desma, Carmel Fruedenstein, Jo Montegue and Rhonda McAuliffe travelled to Walcha for the State Sand “Green” Championship.

With 190 players the only response when asked about results was “it was interesting playing on sand greens”.
