IT was a small, but dedicated, group that gathered at Medowie’s recently established bar and restaurant, The Greenhouse Eatery to watch Origin Game 2.

Ms Lauren Sanders, Sales and Marketing Manager told Medowie News Of The Area,“We wereexcited to host Game Two of The State of Origin.”

“The usual bar and eatery set-up was transformed with lounge chairs, café tables and high top tables, with the dividing function room wall opened allowing the best view of the big screen,” she said.

Despite the Blues losing 26-16, it was a great atmosphere, tasty food, and some banter about how the Origin games should be structured.

It was generally agreed that the Origins game should be played outside of the usual NRL season games as there was concern about the players’ ability to play hard in the game as they could be concerned about injuries for their Club games that weekend.

One punter also argued that ‘what happens at Origin stays at Origin’, meaning any penalties awarded to players, such as disqualifications for games, should not apply to their Club matches.

One local resident, Julie McKimm, was quite amazed at Dane Gagai’s three tries and told Medowie News Of The Area, “I look forward to him replicating that for the Newcastle Knights!”

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, 13 July. Get ready.

The Greehouse Eatery in Pacific Dune along with many other local venues around our great region, will be ready to host what might be a very exciting game of Origin.
