Hawks Nest Surf Club hosts Yoga class for Charity FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - March 23, 2016March 23, 2016 On Monday 14 March, Tea Gardens / Hawks Nest Yoga had a Yoga class at the Surf Club where money was raised and set to go to a very good cause. The ladies in class showing good Yoga form while raising money for Laos children. About twenty keen yogis attended the Yoga Class on the day, at Hawks Nest Surf Club, where teacher Jackie George donated all the money from the class. It’s not too late to still donate teacher, Jenny Winney told News Of The Area. “With $478 so far raised, the money will be used to buy books for poor children in remote parts of Laos,” she said. Funds will benefit Luang Prabang Library (Book Tuk Tuk), an initiative to assist the children of Laos to read. This money will be personally delivered by Jenny and Jack Winney who will be taking a trip to Laos in April and May of this year. Laos is a rural community with many people engaged in subsistence farming, so people are poor and books are an unaffordable luxury. Some schools have no books, even if there is a school. CLI operates the Lao Children’s Library boats, the only two in Laos, which brings books to children and others in 75 Mekong and Ou River villages, as well as giving book bags of 100 books to more villages.
