“There were so many positive responses to our efforts of showing the horrors of WW1 through the eyes and emotional words of the poets last year, that it will be broadcast again this year.”

The Remembering The Armistice program is approximately one hour long, and will be followed at around noon by a second program featuring ‘The songs that won WW1’.

This second program tells the story of World War One through the songs of the time.

“Strangely the songs were almost the antithesis to the war poetry!” Brian said.

The program will feature a range of nostalgic period music, from recruiting songs to romantic ballads and songs expressing sarcasm at the war.

As this program is well over an hour long it has been broken down into four 20 minute sections.

Myall Coast Radio streams online 24/7 and it is anticipated that the program will be listened to as far away as the UK.
