The Hot Rods are back at last!

Hundreds of Australia’s best Hot Rods rolled into High Street Bowraville on Tuesday evening as a part of the 44th Annual Valla Park Rod Run.

AFTER a two year COVID-induced hiatus over 350 Hot Rods came roaring into the Nambucca Valley this week for the 44th Annual Valla Park Rod Run.

The run is one of the highest profile activities on the region’s event calendar and boasts being the longest standing annual rod run in Australia.

The week-long event will culminate on Saturday 1 October 2022 with a ‘Show and Shine’ taking place in Bowra Street, Nambucca Heads from 10am to 12 midday.

Saturday’s Show and Shine was initially canceled due to road closure issues however these have been resolved and it is full steam ahead for the much loved Hot Rod extravaganza that will take place in a closed off Bowra Street.

News Of The Area spoke to the Valla Park Rod Run coordinator, John Cook, who said, “There have been so many disappointed people due to the last two years of canceled events but now everyone is very excited to be back.”

Locals in Bowraville were treated to a spectacle on the evening of Tuesday 27 September when hundreds of the Hot Rods rolled into town filling High Street with Hot Rods from all over Australia.

Many businesses in Bowraville stayed open to support the influx of visitors and locals enjoying the unique evening of Hot Rod entertainment.

The Annual Valla Park Rod Run is conducted by the Sydney based Drag-ens Hot Rod Club and Rob Cook told News Of The Area, “Hot Rodding is a very family based activity to be involved in and participants love to bring their families to the Nambucca Valley each year for this wonderful event.

“During Saturday’s Show and Shine the competitive side of Hot Rodding will be evident when participants will vote on the top ten Hot Rods in this year’s Valla Park Rod Run.”
